About ThrivingHomelab

ThrivingHomelab is an independent review site for people who run — or want to run — their own home lab: NAS storage, mini-PC servers, hypervisors like Proxmox and TrueNAS, media servers, backups, networking, and the self-hosting tools that tie it all together.

Why we exist

Most "best NAS" articles are thin, recycled, and often plain wrong about specs. We do the opposite: every comparison is built from manufacturer-verified specifications and written from first-hand experience running this hardware and software. If a product can't transcode, we say so — even when the pricier option is the one we'd otherwise earn more on.
